- Duration
- 5 h

Hike the Las Monas rainforest to a chain of 10 waterfalls with natural pools, then enjoy a home-cooked meal made by the village grandmother on the way back.
If you want to experience the real culture, nature and beauty of Costa Rica, this is the trip for you. We take you to the Las Monas rainforest for a 25-minute hike into the jungle, learning about the plants the people of Las Monas use as medicine.
From the start of the river to the first waterfall it's 1 kilometer (15 to 20 minutes), and from there a new waterfall appears every 50 to 100 meters. Swim in the 10 natural pools or jump from the top of the falls; if you'd rather not swim, that's fine too. The hike starts easy and then gets a bit more challenging, so it isn't suitable for anyone with a disability or limited mobility.
The experience lasts about 3 hours, depending on how long you'd like to stay at each waterfall. On the way back, you stop at La Casita del Sabor (the Home of Flavor), where the grandmother of Las Monas cooks authentic local food. The perfect day to connect with nature and local culture.
Departures Monday to Saturday at 10:30 a.m. and Sundays at 9:00 a.m. Includes transportation, guide, local fruit, a bottle of water and the meal at La Casita del Sabor.
