Rappel down waterfalls up to 150 feet tall, cannonball into a natural pool, ride a river slide and refuel with a hearty lunch.
Rainforest hiking, waterfall rappels, river-bed trekking and jumps into natural pools: this canyoning trip is a must-do adventure in Costa Rica.
You kick off with a 15-minute tractor ride and a 15-minute nature hike to the first platform, discovering the Central Pacific transitional rainforest along the way. There you get your safety briefing and start with a 250-foot (76 m) self-guided rappel. The second descent goes down the face of a 70-foot (21 m) waterfall, and then comes the big one: a 150-foot (46 m) rappel. And there's more: a 15-foot (4.5 m) cannonball jump into a natural pool (prefer not to jump? take the guided zip line down instead), the natural slide and, to finish, the waterfall avalanche.
Heads up: difficulty is medium to high. You need to be able to climb stairs and hike for about 15 minutes, and you'll get soaked from head to toe, so bring your sense of adventure. Minimum age 7 or minimum weight 50 lb (23 kg); maximum weight 260 lb (118 kg). Phones and cameras will get wet, so leave them behind unless you have a dry bag.
We operate daily with a minimum of 2 people. Departures at 8:00 a.m. (lunch at the end) and 12:00 p.m. (lunch first). The experience lasts 4 hours. Includes certified bilingual guides, tractor ride, nature hike, waterfall rappels, natural slide, avalanche, fruit, water, snacks and lunch.
