If you're after a half day packed with rapids in the Manuel Antonio area, the Naranjo River is the one for you. Just outside Quepos, it's a run of about 2.5 hours with consistent Class III and IV rapids, recommended for physically fit thrill seekers.
Your rafting trip starts with a 45-minute drive toward Manuel Antonio, through Naranjito and Villa Nueva, surrounded by lush rainforest and plantations. At the put-in, you'll get a safety briefing and meet your rafting team.
From the very first drop, the river pushes your raft through pristine jungle gorges and canyons, winding around rocks and bends. After about 7 miles (11 km) of rapids, you drift to the take-out, where a well-deserved snack of fruit and cookies is waiting before the ride back.
